Editorial Guidelines
Our Standards
BankRanked is committed to accuracy, transparency, and editorial independence. Every piece of content follows these principles:
- Data must come from verifiable, publicly available sources
- Every statistic includes inline source attribution
- Content presents risks and downsides, not just benefits
- Qualifying language is used throughout (e.g., "typically," "may," "generally")
- Affiliate relationships never influence editorial content
Content Generation Process
BankRanked generates content in the following ways:
- Data-driven pages (bank profiles, state pages, comparisons) are generated programmatically from structured government data using template functions. No AI inference or large language models are involved in generating these pages.
- Editorial guides may use AI-assisted drafting, followed by human review and editing by our editorial team.
- Glossary definitions may use AI-assisted drafting with human review for accuracy.
All AI-assisted content is labeled with: "AI-assisted, human-reviewed." Programmatically generated pages are not labeled as AI content because they are produced by deterministic code, not machine learning.
Data Verification
Financial data is sourced directly from government APIs and updated quarterly (FDIC data) or daily (FRED rates). We verify data against the original source and note the reporting period on every page.
